Be nice to replace the 530 with at least the 650Xi. The 530 doesn't have state saving, so you have to reset the traffic and other options each start and the flight plan is useless.

    @Skrelk :
Honestly, you shouldn’t hold off your purchase. It is close to perfect as is, just little details to improve except for one that is a little more annoying (the radio switching). It would already let you learn using the aircraft.
Just my opinion of course, but it is the GA aircraft I take the most pleasure flying in the sim.

It was worth buying a few days ago when it was available at a discounted price. ;-)
Anyway I can't wait to see the addition of EFB like on the Dukes!

@JOM4021 I'd been told there are flight model improvements coming in it

I’m not an insider, so I don’t know. However, even though I never flew a real one, I don’t think there is much to improve on the flight model. Maybe the drag induced by the propeller when going idle. I’m using SWS Kodiak as a comparison, where it is more pronounced, but someone with real aircraft experience would have to validate this.

Is there much wing flex on a TBM ? This is a pretty low aspect ratio wing (logical for speed), and I don’t see much on all the YouTube videos featuring this aircraft…

EHSI ARC mode with flight plan legs display is top on my expectation list.

I wouldn’t expect too much of it if I were you. The Bendix King EHSI40 doesn’t support this, it is a first generation EHSI that just replicates a mechanical instrument (with some little additional features allowed by the use of CRT).
To have this capability in the TBM8 would mean changing the instrumentation, which is not the target audience of Black Square. This is what I personally love about this aircraft : an old style cockpit with steam gauges. I wouldn’t have bought it if it had had a Garmin suite.

Oh really? I didn't know that.
I thought the Bendix/King EHSI40 could support ARC mode because there is "ARC" button on it. Is it also INOP in the real thing too?

Working from memory her, but seem to remember reading that the EHS140 came in many flavours and could be updated to different standards although the instrument itself will suggest that certain modes might be available, that unless you spent the big bucks, they would remain an expensive possibility. Like I said, this is working from memory although I think that the manual with the aircraft covers this as well. Don't blame me if I have screwed up, it won't be the first time !

Well… after finding the manual on the internet it appears you are right ! Apologies for stating something incorrect.
However, with the Garmins on the panel, it would be redundant. Most probably this feature is not available if you use anything else than the dedicated (and probably outdated) nav computer provided by B/K. When you look at all the videos of Steveo1kinevo on YouTube, he uses a dual GNS, and you will never see his EHSI on arc/nav mode.
I suppose so that, as the Garmins are available, developing this feature would not be a priority. I, for one, would not need it.

Most probably the features available used to depend on the aircraft type on which it was installed. The TBM being smaller, and depending on panel mounted avionics, most probably didn’t have some features available on, say, a bizjet.

    my logical deduction:

The Black Square TBM850 has "storm clear" switch to clear the weather display on EHSI, which is not implemented yet. If weather is to be displayed on EHSI, it doesn't make much sense to overlay it on the ROSE mode because it provides just directions and deviations from course, not cartographic information which is apt for weather overlay. So there should be ARC mode display with flight plan legs display, on which storm scope to be overlayed.

However it is very hard to find visual materials on the internet to learn how it works on real machine.

First of all, great work so far.

But I was wondering since it was announced somewhere (JF's Facebook maybe) that the update would come "shortly after FSExpo24", was there some unexpected hiccup and/or if there is any info available on the expected timeline for the coming update? Because dukes are nice, but for me nothing beats tbm to be honest.

EHSI Arc mode feature is explained in the manual.
It says that this feature optional in the real planes and thereby not simulated for now. Maybe someday.

@knidarkness I agree - it would be good to know if the update is coming, or in development hell, or whatever

I am not the developer but I read a post from them that they had been working on this during June/July, so I imagine it's not far off. I bought it after buying the Dukes and it's still an excellent add-on even without the EFB :)
