Black Square Bonanza GNS530 black screen again
-
Hello support,
I have an issue with the GNS 530 again.
I have a black screen at the GNS530 and also can not activate it by the ON switch.
What I have done so far:
- removed all addons from the community folder
- installed the WT GNS530 addon from the marketplace (there are 2 ones?)
- re-installed the BS-Bonanza with newly donloaded installation files from JustFlight (V1.1, 2023-3-10).
All these settings had no effects. The screen of the GNS530 keeps staying black.
I noticed also that the KX155 doesn't light up and can not be used.
I read somewhere that the Working Title GNS got an overhaul and that there are some changes according to support all actual (MS) planes (?). Therefore there are 2 WT addons at the marketplace.
Any ideas what to do/try?
Best regards,
Patrick. -
Hi Patrick. Thank you for your detailed report. There has been a bug in the WT GNS since SU14 (which will be fixed in SU15 in about a week), but that should not prevent it from powering up. Given that your KX155 is also unpowered, I suspect this is actually related to the aircraft's failure system. Did you check your avionics circuit breakers or the active failures page on the weather radar display?

Could this be related?

I've also had some occurrence of black GNS, did not note any steps to reproduce, but know it's only happened after SU15 beta. Only happened a couple of times.

@Black-Square That's a good hint to check the breakers (should be added to the checklist ;-P). Yes, indeed. One breaker was popped out (see pic).
When the 530 starts the welcome screen appears and when the startup is finished, the breaker pops out and the screen stays black.
When I push the breaker back in the 530 starts again to the welcome screen and then the breaker pops out again.BUT!
After your hint with the breakers, I did reset all failures in the failures system and it worked again!
I did not expect that because in the failure system details is no GNS failure mentioned. Thanks for your help.
Best regards,

@GunStrauss For me a failure reset in the failure system now helped. After that and after pushing back a popped out breaker, the GNS530 went over the startup and welcome screen again.
