    Ive never flown a single engine airplane with as much torque as the tbm IRL, but is it normal to have to adjust aileron trim significantly after speed/power changes? I adjust rudder trim to center the ball, but it seems like the airplane needs a large amount of aileron input to fly straight and level. I also cant seem to notice any difference with the yaw damper on or off as far as how the airplane hand flies.

    I was about to come on here ( and registered for the very same reason ) to ask this very same question. I have exactly the same issue. Huge amounts of rudder trim and aileron trim needed to keep straight and level flight, even in calm winds.

    I also find on landings the plane ALWAYS yaws to the left and my approach angle is always crabbed. I've not had one straight landing yet, again, even in calm winds.

    Something is pulling the plane sideways, and I can't figure out what that is. I'm pretty sure that's not 100% true to the real thing.

    Hopefully the dev can comment on this....

    As a non-pilot I have questioned the same and learned that the effects of a single engine turboprop are complex and severe. This is not only caused by the movement and torque of the propeller itself, but its airflow effects on the flight surfaces. This even applies to low torque during approach. The passenger load is also having a major influence in this small aircraft.

    In real life you would compensate the left yaw/bank by applying high right rudder trim. Aileron trim is only applied for fuel or load imbalance.

    BTW, on the rudder trim there is a marking for the average takeoff setting, which indicates the "normal" that I once considered pretty high.

    I've watched many of steveo1kinevo's YT videos, and I've not seen him set trims as much as this requires, but maybe he does, and I just missed it? Alas - it does help greatly to enable Autorudder in MSFS Assistance options, but i guess that's not 100% true to life either, however to me it "looks" and behaves a lot more like what I've seen on those YT vids.

    @sg_aviation Yes but the problem is that when you correct the bank with rudder trim, the ball is not centered. In a real airplane you center the ball with rudder or rudder trim, and then should not need to adjust aileron trim unless to compensate for fuel imbalance. In this airplane when you center the ball with rudder trim the plane wants to bank hard left or right depending on the torque output.

    @pds Same, Ive never seen him touch or talk about the aileron trim. And when he or his autopilot is flying the plane the ball is centered and the controls are neutral.
