No traffic at arrival airport
-
Just tried the new update. Flying from KFLL to KMIA.
Traffic when I am taking off and in the air en route.
No traffic when I arrive. Even waited 5 minutes...and did a traffic regeneration, per the menu in game....but no aircraft shows up at KMIA.Per the change log.......does not seem that this update was intended to solve this problem?

@cadum I have the same issue. Beyond fed up with the lies the developers keep feeding us. There's serious issues and this software should have never been released. I will likely file a dispute with PayPal for a refund. If that doesn't work I will do a chargeback.

@johng1
I did another flight...this time from one Australian airport to another. This time I waited till I was en route to my destination before inputting by destination airport code.
To my surprise traffic appeared at my arrival airport as well as a good number of parked aircraft...my initial conclusion is that we need to be reasonably into our route before input of the arrival airport codeI was doing it on the runway as part of takeoff procedure...so..I will test more to see if this is the reason for having had no traffic upon arrival.

@cadum I've been getting traffic and putting in my destination during pre-flight. What I've witnessed with little nav map is that roughly 70-80 miles out FS Traffic will start injecting additional traffic specific to my destination airborne. Once I'm roughly 20-30 miles out it injects the parked ground traffic. So far this has been pretty consistent across the 4 flights I've taken today - though all of them have been 2 to 2.5 hours each.
I know they've commented that they wait until you get airborne and away from scenery etc to do processing - so it wouldn't surprise me if people still having issues may get some success by "kicking" it while at altitude.

@chanjkhk I seem to remember a comment somewhere from a dev that also said they don't generate traffic until you hit greater than 250 knots and 5000 feet, or something like that. So maybe the times you've seen traffic you've hit those milestones for the system? So if you are in something slower than a jet it might cause issues currently.

I've tried what's suggested above and still have no traffic. I've tried flying from KSEA to CYVR, nothing. I also used "slew" and increase my sim rate on a long haul flight, nothing. I've never had issues with FSLTL spawning AI traffic at the arrival airport so it makes no sense to jump through hoops to get AI to work properly. I also noticed the AI that is spawn during flight is just contrails, no AI plane. What a mess.
-
@johng1 if you are seeing contrails but no model it means you've hit the display limit for item in MSFS. They limit it to arround 1000 items per session. If you are using GSX in FS Traffic control centre try turning off some/all of the ground services and see if that enfluences anything.
On first run for me on release day I didn't do that and on pushback all the traffic that was there vanished!

@jasemelbo If you’re still having problems would you please send a ticket via the support page. FS Traffic is much more stable with the latest update but with so many different set ups and variables at play it’s inevitable that people may still experience some issues.
Support can help by gathering extra information so we can work out what is going on in the background to stop traffic from spawning.

@cadum I did the very same flight from London City to Heathrow and got the same deserted Heathrow on arrival. I did it a couple of times trying to work out what was wrong and fix it, I failed miserably to fix it. This was on the new updated installer too. ironically the old one worked fine, this fixing one broke it for me.
Its infuriating that there are so many issues with this release. People just want it to work as it should, simply, easily............just work -
Asking out of curiosity. For those of you who have issues with no traffic; are you using JF Traffic’s timetables, or are you using MSFS Live Traffic, but with the JFTraffic AI aircraft models? I’m curious to know if there are still no traffic issues when using MS Live Traffic over JF timetables.

Same problem since day one; The update didn't change anything (and I think it was not supposed to do it).
Back to FSLTL! -
@cadum
Just did a flight from KIAD to KDCA, less than 50 mile trip.No traffic when I arrived at KDCA...made sure to set the destination airport while in flight.
So....as of this moment, the best I can say...is that arrival traffic works maybe sometimes, maybe dependent on arrival airport.
I have used in this last flight two busy airports for the current time of day and day of the week....so I have no clue why this can't consistantly work as intended.
-
I have the same issue as reported here. I've also noticed that sometimes, when you arrive at the destination airport, the default MSFS airport is shown, and any payware / freeware airport doesn't show. I had this flying into WSSS and KPHL. Not sure if anyone else has seen this issue ?

I’m not sure if it’s related, but I’ve just spent 15-30 minutes at the following airports watching traffic in the airport
EGLL
KMCI
KJFK
EGBB
EGCCPlenty of departures, but arrivals. Not one. I waited at each airport between 15-30 minutes.
I’m really at a loss about this. There seems to be an issue with aircraft arriving at departure airports and the population of aircraft at the destination airport.
Do aircraft spawn in on a journey, or do they have to actually depart from their departure airport and fly the whole route before they arrive where I am? If they spawn in mid-flight, how far out do they spawn?
I don’t think I had this frustration before the cough fix.
I hate to say this, but I’m going to have to go back to Simple Traffic. It has its flaws but at least it works. 😔

I’ve just read something very interesting in the manual.
The Time Before Departure Value (Mins) option controls how long before departure an aircraft will occupy a gate. For example, with this set to 90 minutes, starting a flight at 10am will load in every aircraft that is due to depart from that airport until 11:30am, after which time there will be no further departures. A higher setting here will result in busier airports but may negatively impact performance.
This is saying to me that if I spawn in at an airport at 1000, with my TBDv set to 90 minutes, then every aircraft due to depart between 1000 and 1130 will spawn in. But once those aircraft have departed that’s it. You’ll get no more aircraft spawning in. Effectively your departure airport will empty.
But what about in-coming aircraft? How does the TBDv affect them? After a certain period of time will landings also cease to occur? When do aircraft at my destination spawn in? At the same time as those at my departure airport? If so, and my journey is longer than 90 minutes, can I expect all the aircraft at my destination to have departed before I get there, leaving me with an empty destination airport?
Wow, my head hurts! 😔
