Turbo Arrows not working correctly after sim update 5

It appears that SU5 has messed with the user's ability to control certain aspects of the cockpit via controller assignments, the parking brake being the obvious one but I'd imagine there will be others. I'd say as an initial reaction that it's a sim problem which will require some looking into. Just a thought for now, the one big thing that has changed within SU5 in regards to this is the cockpit interaction - try setting it to 'Legacy' (Go to General Options, Accessibility, Cockpit Interactions. Change it to Legacy). You may find that the controller functions still work or you may not, I don't know.

There seem to be those that love this new cockpit interaction and those that hate it. Personally, I turn off all tooltips when flying for enjoyment because they detract from the realism, so I've already binned the new interaction system

(Edited to say, I've been using the SU5 Beta since it was released and, using the mouse in the VC, I've yet to find a control that doesn't work. Tested all the PA28s like that, I have basic functions like gear, flaps, trim set on my Warthog and they still work so there was nothing to suggest that there would be a problem)

Sim Update 5 removed all my custom flight controls for the Arrow and Turbo Arrows.
SU5 disables/breaks custom camera views. Cannot save or recall. Works in stock planes, e.g. C172.
Flies and taxis correctly that I found.

I noticed that the keybind I have set for toggle parking brake works correctly for toggle on, but when I attempt to toggle off it immediately toggles back to "on". For now, I just have to remember to release the parking brake with the mouse.

Custom cameras started working. No idea why.

I’m getting a lot of banking to the left when flying. Irrespective of current winds.

When taking off, the Arrow sharply veers to the left close to Vr. Barely controllable.

@corvus5624 I am flying solo. Hmm. Didn’t notice it this bad before. Much more delicate. Possible though if something was tweaked. Will test.

It would be good to maintain a list. I only made a simple VFR flight and had not used most of the nav equipments, but already have a list:

Parking brake TOGGLE assignment turns brake ON instead of toggling (reported by others as well)
Side window can't be opened
~~GPS is stuck in COM SETUP mode, I can't select any other modes~~
~~GPS VOL Push ID button is spinning, but can be stopped~~
Battery refill is not reffilling to full. If battery is drained, one should start the aircraft with "Ready For Takeff" mode, wait until the battery is recharged and then save the state
I have feelings that State Saving functionality is also compromized. Possibly fuel is not saved correctly or the values are reset by some known FS bugs around fuel quantity initialization
Someone wrote that the HDG BUG change button lost the acceleration functionality. I can't confirm as I don't remember how it worked before.

I haven't flown the Arrow for some weeks, so I am not sure, but it seems the engine start procedure had slightly changed. Now I have to add a minimum power (throttle) when starting, otherwise the process halts. After starting I might set throttle to idle. This might be realistic (priming) and might have come with one of the Arrow updates.

UPDATE: The two GPS issues are related not to the default GPS but to the PMS-50 GNS mod. The default version works fine. The most up-to-date PMS-50 GNS is also working fine. So these are no issues.

GPS AP wasn't working. Heading hold worked fine, but GPS does not.

Gps does work, but you first have to press the heading button and then the nav switch. Sometimes need to do this a few times

Are these issues occurring with the default or PMS-50 GNS? If it's the latter, have you installed the latest version of the GNS?

Dear Martyn, please can you let us know if there will be an updated version of the Arrows being made available to resolve the issues brought on by SU5? For example very difficult to activate Nav mode, and the heater cannot be turned on. Thanks.

@Martyn, it was PMS-50 GNS. I removed it and the default GPS is working fine. I updated my list above to reflect this. Thanks.

hey...
some issues i run into after a short break with the sim...

autopilot gets crazy when engaging
when pressing the HDG button (hdg is sync with the runway)
the yoke turns immediately to the left
same with NAV it turns slowly to the right
have no magenta line in the Garmin` s when loading a plan
instead i have weird waypoint names that actually not in my flight plan
(i have to say , i use the pms50 GNS 530 mod)

minor isssues

interior co pilot model is gone
oxygen toggle is gone ( i think it was the "dump air" event in the sim)

very disapointed with the last su5 (not your fault .. i know)

@voice-of-reason I have the latest version of the Turbo arrows installed. I went through programs and features to completely remove the last versions I had installed, then ran the new versions installer. The plane works well now, however, when flying on VATSIM, I noticed COMM1 and 2 and the transponder will change to a random set of numbers when airborn. On the ground they seem to stay as you set them. Once I takeoff, they all just change, making flying on VATSIM impossible. Tried with the GNS mod and without it. Same result both times.

yes i have 0.4.0 in my comunity folder (also the newest pms50 mod)

i removed the old version from the com folder and reinstalled it via the new 0.4.0 .exe installer

should i try to remove it completely from my system and install again ?

would it be possible to add a small indication to the EFB when the ALT hold mode is active ?
i disabled the ugly looking cockpit tooltips in the sim ... but now its hard to check the state
