FS Traffic

@greystone93 Did you check the airport's schedule in the FS Traffic Control Centre to see if departures are scheduled in that time period with aircraft liveries included with FS Traffic? If you are only having the problem at night, I assume that object limit is not the problem.

@jf-john Yes, it's the airport from Drzewiecki Design. After removal of some static objects, the traffic there is working.

Hello, I have added this file and nothing changed. I had although a scenery installed which I removed and traffic appeared WITHOUT the added file. Question here, when I remove the scenery, MSFS shows both OKBK and OKKK on top of each other as you can see it in the map hence thats why it is appearing but when I add the scenery only OKKK appears and thus no traffic appears. Traffic used to work on the same scenery before the ICAO change. Thanks.

@hunterdouglas Hello, You can do this by backing up the following folders located in Community\justflight-fstraffic-module\Data Aircraft Schedules Back them up to a safe location and after installing updating simply delete the new ones and paste these in the same location.

@supersym I tried it and it worked alongside FS Traffic. However, some of the GA aircraft just backed up until they were out of sight and the helicopter and balloon were a little weird. I removed it and instead used the FSLTL GA aircraft as airlines GA1, GA2, etc. Works fine when creating some traffic within a small region but doesn't provide worldwide GA traffic as really needed. But, you might give the gamod thing a try.

Hi all, Just to give a brief overview of how the arrival traffic works in FS Traffic. One of the more common support tickets we receive is regarding Ai aircraft frequently going around on approach, either due to traffic on the runway, or more commonly, due to traffic not having the correct separation on approach. The limitation we face is that the MSFS Ai Traffic / ATC system does not apply any form of separation to the arriving traffic. ATC just directs them to start the approach immediately and does not take into account other traffic in the area. This then leads directly to another issue we face with the default MSFS traffic system which is when an Ai aircraft performs a go-around, there is a sizeable chance that the aircraft will not receive further instructions from ATC to rejoin the approach. If the Ai aircraft does not receive instructions from ATC it will not know where to fly to, so the aircraft will fly back to the last waypoint on its flight plan (which in our case is the destination airport) and will fly over the airport at a very low altitude. As MSFS doesn't handle this separation, we have to add separation via code and the only way we have found to do this is by controlling the timing and position of the arrival traffic generation. So the way the arrival traffic currently works is we take all the arrivals in the 1 hour period the player is currently in, and then space those arrivals out equally over that 1 hour period. For example, if you load into an airport at 1020, we process all of the scheduled arrivals between 1000 and 1059 and then generate them in equal time periods for the duration of that hour (so if there are 6 arrivals scheduled in that hour, an arrival aircraft will generate every 10 minutes). With v1.0.5 we also added a hard limit to this arrival traffic of a maximum frequency of 1 arrival every 3 minutes. From our extensive testing, this provides the best balance of arrival separation and quantity. As we have to apply a fairly significant amount of code to make sure the arrival traffic is generating correctly and with the best seperation, it is not currently possible to add custom flights to the arrival schedules. We hope that helps clarify the logic behind the arrival system. To clarify for future reference, the above is all correct using MSFS SU12 and FS Traffic v1.0.5, but this can and likely will change with future sim updates and updates to FS Traffic. It's a small file download that does a good job on fixing the bad sequencing of AI aircraft by FS. It helps remedy the many go arounds. Once downloaded you don't install it as such, you just run the file direct from its folder. Launch FS and then launch AIFlow and forget. I find it helpful to put a shortcut on my taskbar for AIFlow. will try that, thanks.

@hunterdouglas I have to be honest, because I have moved house, I haven't had chance to use it much. So I will not have seen your issue. I am glad it is working again for you.

@cbalow Probably a plus for aircraft/livery updates not occurring more often. I keep a copy of the .ini files that were modified with the Control Centre to restore the changes I have made when there is an update. These files are in Community > justflight-fstraffuc-module > Data > Aircraft > aircraftIniFiles . Original .ini files should be retained by changing the the .ini in the name to .bak . File name extensions should be checked in Windows Explorer to properly view the file names. FS Traffic Control Centre also automatically creates a .bak file whenever you make changes.

I would like to 2nd the request for this issue to be re-looked at. When loading up my flight at Heathrow, it takes a full 15 minutes for planes to push back, taxi and start getting to the runway for take off. Also, it takes a while before any planes land. This might be fine if you've got your head down programming your FMC or MCDU, but if you're flying GA or doing a bit of spotting, it's quite boring waiting for things to come alive. What I would like to see is that as soon as you load into the game, there should be planes landing and lining up for take off, based on the schedule. I want to see a busy and active airport immediately once it loads up. I don't know if it's like this due to a restriction in the way the core game works, but if not, then please consider making this change.

@the_angry_celt I did get a reply from Justflight stating that they will look into this as a bug after last weekend's FS expo in Houston. I do get scheduled flights arriving at added airports but no scheduled departures. My example that they are to look at is not an added airport, but rather one that was included in FS Traffic with no scheduled departures. Same problem.
