Still using FSX and Traffic X, works best for me, its old now but still very enjoyable, just need to get that unhandled Error fixed in traffic x.
If you can still get FSX and Traffic X I would go with that.

The disc is more than likely knackered. Have you had it from new? It was released in February 2004 so the disc may well have degraded by now. Are you able to explore it?
