A rheostat has two terminals. A potentiometer has three.

In a rheostat one terminal is connected to the track (usually wire wound) and the other to the slider.
In a pot, there is a terminal for each end of the resistive track and a terminal for the slider.
Rheostats are more common in high current circuits.

I've not used either of those games before, which one is the better of the 2 ?

Beatles or Rolling Stones? Labour or Conservative? United or City?
Of course, which sim to use is much more contentious than music, politics or football, as five minutes in any of the FS forums will demonstrate.

FSX is cheaper (and older) but, other than that, it is horses for courses.
There is a new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator out, but don't expect to see aircraft add-ons as complex as Vulcan for a while yet.

This is getting dated but might be worth a look.

@alan-cottrill If you’d like to fly the Canberra in formation then message me as I’m always on the lookout for other people who have an interest in RAF aircraft.

I (as I believe many who downloaded at first opportunity) had the same issue. A notification advised there was a potential file issue and that this was entirely fixed by deleting the sim again and redownloading/reinstalling.

Skeptical as I was, I followed the advice and it worked fine. That said, there is a fine semantic line between a 7+ minute load from clicking the shortcut and declaring the darn thing dead in the water.

I I walked to the bar at my favourite watering hole and with an empty bar it took over 7 minutes before the barstaff acknowledged I was there - I think I might reconsider the alternatives - I hear they serve a pretty good pint at "Xbar11".

Odd really because when I heard my preferred bar which to be fair was looking deeply in need of refurbishment was under new management I looked at the proposals and figured 'Xbar11' was going to lose all its regulars. Not so sure now.

I've just written a preliminary review of FS2020 for one of the flying magazines and I have to say it is not the review I might have expected it to be from the early rumours.

I currently have FS9, FSXA, P3D4.5, P3D5 and the Beta for MSFS2020 all on the same PC. I would suggest the SE versions will be no different as they are in a completely separate folder structure and its not like you will be running both simultaneously.

The world is changing very much now. This concerns the climate in the first place. I heard that the planet has moved a little off its axis, so we see wild climate changes, the beginning of tectonic plate displacements in Africa, severe storms, etc. My older sister is quite a religious person and is looking for signs of angels because of this - https://www.sunsigns.org/angel-number-0000-meaning/ I don't know whether to take this seriously or not. I myself believe that stability will be enough for my age for sure (this is another 30 years if I'm lucky). So I don’t worry about such things. People are born, airplanes fly .. everything is as usual, isn't it?
