Does anyone know what the capabilities of the real world GNLU 910A are in terms of what types of approaches it is certified for etc?

      AI Overview
The GNLU-910A FMS, often found in retrofitted regional jets like the Avro RJ, is designed for RNAV/GNSS-based approaches, supporting GPS-based navigation, vertical navigation (VNAV) through CLB, CRS, and DES pages, and managing flight phases including, but not limited to, non-precision approaches. It computes VNAV, fuel, and ETA, facilitating approach procedures.

Key Real-World Capabilities & Approach Certifications:
RNAV/GNSS Approaches: The unit is primarily used for GPS-based approaches.
Lateral Navigation (LNAV): Provides navigation along the flight plan route, including SID/STAR, and approach procedures.
Vertical Navigation (VNAV): Features CLB, CRS, and DES pages for managing vertical profiles.
Approach Management: The FMS handles approach procedures, automatically managing data for the FAF and MAPT.
Precision/Non-Precision Support: While it provides vertical guidance, it is often associated with navigating non-precision approaches and VNAV-equipped approaches, rather than autoland-capable ILS, though it is integrated with the aircraft’s autopilot system.
The unit is not for, nor does it replace, traditional ILS precision equipment, but rather supplements it with modern area navigation.
