TMS lights disappear in 2D and VR MSFS 2024
-
I'm having the same issue in VR. I have to lean closer to it to see the arrows. I also notice the cursor kind of floats over the TMS buttons so I have to close my right eye to get it to align correctly, yet the rest of the cockpit is fine.

This is an optimisation that is being applied by MSFS 2024 itself. When the size of an object on the screen drops below a certain threshold, the simulator will automatically remove that object to improve performance. This may vary from user to user, as it will vary with screen resolution, which is likely why it is more noticeable in VR.
We have seen this reported by other developers too, and unfortunately, we haven't yet found any method of 'forcing' small objects to always appear in MSFS 2024.

Hi Mark,
thanks for the explenation. This helps a lot in understanding why there isn't any fix for this yet. Maybe there is some improvement in SU4.
Tried to find an answer in the MSFS Forum for other planes with the same problem ages ago. But there were only crickets. Nice to find an answer here!
Best regards,

Thanks, Mark. I suspected MSFS was the culprit given the LOD issues people have been having since launch, but it's nice to have a firm answer.

The visibility is based on the amount of screen space the objects occupy. The CTRL (N1/N2) and MSTR (1/2) lights are smaller objects than the triangle object on the SYNC button, or the ON object on the PWR button, so the smaller objects disappear first.

Qucik question @Mark : Do you recommend opening a support ticket on MS/Asobo side of things to get more attention to this? Tried to raise the issue in the MSFS Forums, but it wasn't acknowledged there. Is MS/ASOBO acknowleding the problem in the Dev-Forums or are they in the: "It's your problem, not ours" page of the support SOPs?

We have our own channels that we use to contact the MSFS dev team. Although some larger pieces of feedback and feature requests can sometimes benefit from being posted on "The Bug Reporting Hub" section of the official MSFS forums (where they can be upvoted by other users), any smaller, more technical reports, such as these LOD issues, are typically best left to the respective developers to discuss with the MSFS dev team on their own channels.
