    Hi folks,
I notice on the APU panel in FS2024, when you shut the APU down, the RPM and TGT both spool down slowly. Of course, I don't have access to real a/c as JF do (and Ryan, who is very helpful on these forums), but my understanding, purely from footage I've watched, is that the APU doesn't really spool down so much as shut straight off, and both gauges simply flick straight to nought (always struck me as odd on the 146, that). This is certainly the case (and simulated) in the JF 146. Is this different on the RJ IRL? Or is this a bit of a bug/sim-ism?

I remember this coming up during testing, so I've dug out where we discussed this logic. The following comment is from an RJ engineer on our testing team:

"Most RJs have a mod which adds a time delay in the ECU power being removed from the APU ECU, so that you see the APU spool down and such. I think it's after 2 minutes that power is actually removed."

I believe we found that older aircraft with earlier S/Ns were more likely to have the logic you mentioned, where the APU RPM/TGT needles instantly fall to 0 when the APU is shutdown, and newer aircraft were more likely to have the mod. We've tried to simulate an RJ on the more modern side of the scale, which is why we chose to simulate the mod.

      Hope that helps.
