Couple of issues with Doors and APU for first flight
-
Hi,
MSFS2024 in the RJ starting at a gate or remote standing.
This first may be something I am not doing in the sim, as I just moved from FSX. How do I interact with the doors from the inside of the aircraft as in the product video, and also the Interphone and Control panel over the right front service door. I have tried shiftX but nothing is working when I approach these items. One other issue I have found is the APU is switched to ON but not running when I start the flight. I don't seem to be able to switch it to the OFF position to restart it. The switch changes colour when I hover the mouse over it, but it doesn't seem to move............Yes I am aware there is a small square shaped switch guard on the APU start switch. I did start a flight on the runway, so all up and running to start with but then found I couldn't turn off the APU all flight.
Apart from these small issues, I really like the aircraft, it's fun and a bit different and seems very immersive. So if anyone can help I would appreciate your advice.
All the very best and thankyou,
Dave. -
The passenger and service doors should just be standard left-click interactions on the respective areas. Similarly, the APU switch should also be a standard left-click interaction (although as you say, it does have the red baulk that can lock it in the "START" position, although that is unlocked by default).
If you are used to FSX, you may prefer to use the "LEGACY" Cockpit Interaction System, which removes the blue highlights and uses the FSX style of interactions rather than the "LOCK" style of interactions. This can be changed in MSFS 2024 Settings > General > Flight Interface > Cockpit Interaction System > LEGACY.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your reply. I can't try anything until Thursday, my next flying day. Regarding the doors, when you say "left click" on the door handle, would that be in "drone view" ie Shift+X or character control Shift+C. I do find the new view system a bit confusing, especially moving around the plane to see features. I realise you can't move around when airbourne only in drone view.
It might be worth looking at your suggestion of Legacy cockpit interaction, just to proove everything does as I am expecting in the aircraft.
Thanks again,
Dave.
