PSA: Simbrief implemented Takeoff Performance Calculator for Avro RJ
-
I spoke with the (incredible) Navigraph & JF teams at FSExpo a few weeks ago and one thing I requested was the inclusion of reduced thrust data for the Avro RJ on the simbrief takeoff performance calculator. You are now able to use it to calculate flex temperatures on takeoff.
The folks at Navigraph almost instantly implemented it. Huge thanks to both sides for making my favorite plane bar none even more enjoyable and immersive.

I brought this up to the navigraph forums the other day, and when I pointed out that the Avro RJ had the TRP, they implemented flex on both the RJ and the 146.
I’ve noticed in a couple of trips though that it has given me a very high flex temp suggestion, 50 C. I found myself nearly running out of available runway on those occasions. I just dialed it down and found a temperature that seemed more suitable.

I find myself skeptical of the performance calculations that SimBrief provides. I've seen weird calculations on various aircraft and who knows where it comes from. Since they have to provide for all those airframes they don't specialize on any of them, if that makes sense.

Isn't that sort of the point? If you do optimal temp and flap calculation in the Maddog, you get the same thing.
You're trading engine wear for runway.
