Drops in FPS during flight
-
Hi,
Have been experiencing some issues with FPS since the 1.3 update release of this spectacular aircraft. When spawning in to my originating airport, all is great, FPS between 40-50, everything is super smooth as I climb to my cruising altitude, then I begin to notice drops in FPS down to as low as 18-25, and this is at cruise, when one would expect to have the best performance. Typical length of flight between 2 to 4 hours
I use the application Auto_FPS, so I am able to monitor the values, and have it set to drop the values of OLOD to 20 and increase TLOD to 100 when passing 10,000ft, as well as setting a target FPS of 30. The aircraft never seems to recover FPS and continues to decline in performance, right up to arriving at the gate of the destination airport.
I only load the resources that I need for my flight using addons linker, so nothing unnecessary is loaded in to the community folder.
It might be worth adding that I stream on twitch (gadgetfpv) when I fly, but nothing is like this is experienced on any other aircraft, ie. PMDG, Fenix, A2A, SWS and surprisingly not even iniBuilds or the FBW A380, and we know some of those can be extremely resource heavy, but I see no issue with them.
My system specs are AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3070Ti and 32GB Ram.
Hope you can help or are already looking into possible causes, whether a memory leak somewhere, don't know, but something is definitly happening and it happens all the time, never ever on any other aircraft.
Fingers crossed.

I hope it's not impossible to fix in the relative short term. I love the plane, but the way it's currently performing is a bit tiring and makes landings way harder than they should be.
There doesn't seem to be any particular activity inducing the performance hit, I tried disabling the cabin, several other parts, avionics on or off, it's just "heavy".

I think a lot of it is specific situation dependent, and is for most things in the sim. My theory is that some things expose situations that are just under the surface with a piece of code or a process that you can only catch in specific instances maybe with a specific HW config or driver or something along those lines, because i see a lot of posts about various SW and add ons that i never see in my use case, then bam, something happens and i got some weird issue no one else sees, its like finding the weakest link in a complex system with the flight sim stuff and add ons.

At the moment our development team is fully focused on updating all of our MSFS 2020 products to the latest standards and making them MSFS 2024 compatible. Once those updates are complete, we will be able to reroute resources back to the RJ for a future update. We aren't able to provide an exact timeframe on that at the moment, but we will be sure to communicate any updates when they're available.
