Airplane begins to bank without warning
-
I was flying between Edinburgh and Amsterdam on autopilot. No ice was detected at the time (afaik). The airplane suddenly began to bank to the left which i was able to recover manually and then realign to the fp. As part of my recovery I turned on all anti-ice systems but I'm not sure if this was actually the cause of the issue. Again, I did not have an ice detect warning at this point.

We would need further information to be able to investigate this one further. Ideally, a video showing the behaviour and the flight plan used so we can try and replicate it on our side.
If this occurs again, could I kindly ask you to record a video of this issue and then raise a ticket with Just Flight Support at the following link: https://www.justflight.com/support
Our support team will then be able to investigate that and provide any troubleshooting if required.

I also had the problem that the airplane suddenly began to bank to the left or right.
In my case it was a problem with the button mapping and not a bug of the aircraft.
I have the number pad keys mapped to my custom views.
They have also been mapped to rudder left/right and yoke left/right and forward/backward.
Had to remove the rudder and yoke mappings, and then the problem never appeared again.
So if someone has the same problem, it may help to check the mapping of the keys you are using. -
@Mark Hi mark, a bit difficult as the issue is very intermittent and I would pretty much have to record my entire flight every time.
It happened again today and I noticed it occurred while I was entering a fix into the FMS and also using the descent calculator on the EFB.
Instead, could you explain the expected behaviour of the airplane if icing does occur so that I can compare this to the two incidents I've recently experienced?
I will say that if I take manual control of the airplane I am able to recover the attitude so this would say to me that icing may not be the issue - but I would like to know what happens to the airplane if icing occurs nonetheless.

@Flight0101010101 what was the button mapping in question?

Hi @WillyCanuck.
For example, in the keyboard binding, the numpad key 4 was per default mapped to Aileron Left.
So when I was pressing the numpad key 4, the aircraft began to bank to the left and no longer followed the NAV course.
After removing all not wanted bindings for the num pad keys, I no longer had the problem.
Had a couple of flights now, and never saw the sudden bank to the left or right again.
The autopilot was perfectly following the route.
But it may be another problem in your case. -
@Flight0101010101 @Mark I think this was it.
For some stupid stupid reason, MSFS 2024 has added a whole pile of keybindings for flight controls on the keyboard num pad.
I've retraced my steps and I THINK what happened is while I was entering values into the top of descent calculator, this has inadvertently kicked some sort of control that's caused mayhem. Now I say 'I think' because I'm not sure but I have removed ALL keybindings for flight controls on the keyboard side and keeping an eye on this.
Having said that - I doubt I will be the only one that comes across this issue so would suggest that additional guidance is added to the manual and FAQ warning of this issue (solution is remove keybindings) but also if there was some way for the aircraft to ignore keyboard inputs while the TOD calc is open (or any other dialogue that might inspire use of the num pad).
I'll report back further once I have had further time with the product.

reporting back - thanks @Flight0101010101 - I definitely think it was keybindings on my numeric pad which caused the issue. Once I removed all flight control bindings from the numeric pad, I have flown without issue. @Mark sorry about the red herring but I do think it would be worth it to call this out in documentation.
