INSTRUMENT LIGHTING ISSUES
-
I find that the RJ instrument lighting, in particular the glareshield, engine instruments, PFD and NAV display are not bright enough when the daytime weather is hazy.
I have all the lighting settings set to max, but as you can see from the screenshots, when the weather becomes misty or hazy the instrument lights are unreadable, to the extent that the aircraft is unflyable. Ive tried various NVIDIA and windows colour settings but I cant seem to fix this issue.Clear day

Thank you for the feedback. This isn't something we have noticed during testing, but we'll try and replicate the conditions in your "Hazy" example and tweak the brightness as necessary.
For reference, the brightness of the PFD/ND can be controlled using the dimmer knobs on the left of the captain's and first officer's PFD. The other displays, such as the MCP displays and engine instruments, don't have any manual lighting controls and are instead controlled automatically based on the ambient lighting conditions.

@Mark
PED green LEDs are lit based on ambient light but the panel itself including the legends(the words, the green, yellow, red arc etc) is backlit and controlled by the left side PANEL INSTS dimmer. Increasing the brightness on the panel also causes light to leak into the sensors causing the green LEDs to also brighten a littleThe MCP digital displays are controlled by the GLARESHIELD dimmer on the overhead. The button annunciators brightness are controlled separately by the flight annunciator bright/dim switch.
Im not sure whats the best way to upload pictures from my phone to this forum to show examples.

Thanks for the feedback. If it helps I was at Delhi using Active Sky live weather, which was very hazy. As soon as I switched live weather off the instrument lighting, all set to max, brightened up. However even then I think if the lighting brilliance could be increased slightly it would make it easier to read.

@rj Thank you for the feedback. It's one of those very specific things that we could never find an answer for in the FCOMs, so we based the logic on what we have seen in other aircraft. We've logged that on our internal bugs tracker to look into.
