Low FPS
-
The same for me. Did some FPS-Tests in EDHL - a very small airport. Simply loaded the sim with the PMDG 736 on stand 2, I got 46 FPS. Then the same with the RJ85 and I got around 30 FPS.
When I load it in cold&dark state, it has aprox 36 FPS. As soon as I switch it on (Batteries and systems) it goes to 30 FPS and stays there. EFIS on or off makes no difference, as well as fiddeling with the EFIS refresh rate.
(with the PMDG I have 50 FPS cold&dark and 46FPS with systems on)Hardware is a Core i9 / 3080TI.
You can imagine how it looks on very big airportsโฆ almost unusable. -
Adding to the chorus here regarding FPS issues. I can barely crack 30 (with the help of AutoFPS) where on the Fenix and PMDG I'm at 40-50....

@Iiari Yeah they know about it.
It will be fixed... as it was with the 146 by update 1.1 or 1.2. I have FAITH

@Gabe777 Oh, I have faith. The 146 is my favorite plane in the sim to hand fly. It performs fabulously, so I imagine they'll eventually get the RJ optimized once they (like everyone else) is done adapting things to MSFS 2024...

I just wanted to chip in my recent observations.
I managed to get quite a few fps by disabling the pax cabin via EFB. I did move gauge refresh slider to minumum. While refresh rate did not make any difference to me, disabling the cabin did.
V-Synch is off, I double checked.
The only thing I would like to kindly suggest to developers is to maybe consider decreasing texture size decrease to 4K as an option during installation? -
I'll add my observations as well for 2020. Running a 4080 Super with 9800x 3D, downscaling ALL textures (VC, cabin etc) to 2K, hiding the EFB, and hiding the cabin, as well as lowering the gauge refresh rate nets me about 3-5 FPS in most scenarios. But, compared to the 146, F28, Fenix, PMDG products, and others; I'm running well lower 15-25+ FPS overall (typically 30-45 FPS for the Avro, 70-80+ for others in the same airport/weather/traffic scenarios). The RJ is definitely one of the hardest hitting products in my sim. I think I've exhausted most of the tricks trying to squeeze some more performance out of it, and would love to hear if any further optimizations could be made for it someday.
Open to any other ideas anyone may have!
