Making it slightly easier to "cheat" (fake autothrottle)
-
So, while waiting for the new update of the Fokker F28, and release of the RJ looming over the horizon I have jumped into the good-old BAE146 once again. And remembered how iffy it feels to maintain speeds in "AFK-cruise". As a result I crafted a small mode to add a "quasi-autothrottle" to this great plane.
It is a far cry from something advanced (e.g. the likes of 737, A320, or the upcoming RJ) and has no information feed from the Autopilot system -- because of this, autothrottle can only react to changes, not predict them. But still it feels like life becomes easier when I can automate away some of the routine, so I decided to share it with the community.
Hence, here it is: https://flightsim.to/file/79832/auto-throttle-for-the-justflight-bae-146 .
Another question, I would imagine, for @Mark -- is it permissible to upload a modified
panel.xml
file for the BAE146 to fs.to as a part of this mod? This would allow for a drag-and-drop installation, instead of the current setup where user needs to modify the panel themselves. -
@knidarkness Unfortunately, we can’t give permission for the redistribution of our files, as that would be in breach of the licence and copyright terms we have agreed with other parties.
You're more than welcome to distribute the mod with the instructions on how users can edit the panel.cfg file themselves, we are just unable to give permission for the original or edited panel.cfg file to be redistributed.
