Engine "flame out" for no apparent reason.

Cruising over the UK at FL280 with the GNS530 handling my autopilot, and all of the sudden both HP compressors immediately stop rotating - as in, the gauges and sounds all indicate that the engine has instantly stopped rotating for no apparent reason.

I had plenty of fuel, no icing nor icing conditions, fuel master switches were in the normal (RUN) position, thrust levers were at around 92% HP compressor speed, and all of the fuel pumps were on.

Generators stayed alive until I switched on engine start master switch to attempt a relight - which was not possible since HP rotation did not increase.

Any ideas?

That's not something we have seen reported before, but it could possibly be a controller conflict with some of the control assignments you may be using with your external hardware. I would recommend checking the "SET ENGINE 1 FUEL VALVE" and "SET ENGINE 2 FUEL VALVE" control assignments just incase they have been accidently triggered. It may also be worth checking other ENGINE and FUEL assignments again just to rule out a controller conflict.

Aside from that do you recall if you received any error messages on the EFB/tablet such as "Aircraft loading..." or "License Failure" when that occurred? I doubt this would be an activation/license issue with it occurring in the cruise but it's always useful to rule that one out.

@Mark Thanks for your response, I solved the problem and thankfully it was nothing to do with your aircraft.

My Honeycomb Bravo, annoying, has developed axis jitter. I had the same issue with a single engine the other day (I have 2 axes bound to physical fuel control levers) and the axis moved to a position where the engine cut out.
