146 Cargo Variants and Various Callouts
-
I know this is something I've asked for in the past, and the cabin crew callout conditions are somewhere else on the forums, but are they supposed to work with the cargo variants, and do the pilot callouts need them in order to work?
I've started a few flights with the 146 over the last day or so. I see cabin announcements and auto cabin crew are greyed out in the aircraft options using the -300QT, but I don't believe I've gotten the pilot callouts during takeoff unless I've manually done the "cabin crew prepare for takeoff" from the tablet. Using the call button while taxiing on the ground doesn't do it, nor does doing it from the EFB end up flipping the placard on the center console to Cabin Secured for Takeoff, but I do get the "TMS set for takeoff" and takeoff roll callouts more consistently.
Are the cabin announcements necessary or am I missing a crucial step somewhere?

The 'cabin announcements', 'cabin ambient sounds', and 'auto cabin crew' will all be greyed out in the cargo variants as they are specific options for the passenger variants. However, these options should have no effect on the pilot callouts as they are controlled via the 'pilot callouts' option.
The callouts during each stage of flight require the aircraft to be set up in the correct state. For example, for the takeoff callouts to play the landing and strobe lights must be turned on, and the throttles advanced above 40% N1.
One way to confirm if the callouts are working correctly is to load a flight on the runway, ensure the 'pilot callouts' option is enabled on the EFB, and then take off. As the aircraft is set up for takeoff, the callouts should play.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the reply, and sorry for the delay; I had completely forgotten I had posted this.
I tried what you suggested, and it did indeed work with the 300QT variant. What I discovered along the way was, since I usually have MSFS on external speakers and set the in-game Communications device to my headphones, it seems like that's where the Pilot Callouts are coming through. When I initially tried it and it didn't work, I was in VR and had adjusted everything around that except likely the MSFS Communications device.
Also tried moving that to my speakers and that's where I started hearing him, so I think I'm all set.
