I'm not able to get smooth nosewheel steering with the tiller. "Rudder Axis Steering" option is disabled in the EFB (separate axes for rudder and tiller). There is nothing wrong with my hardware assigned to the tiller axis. I'm running the latest update of the 146 that released on April 5th, 2024.

When turning the tiller slowly and smoothly, the nosewheel jumps to discrete intervals rather than smoothly following the tiller. Quickly turning the tiller will smoothly animate the nosewheel, but it stops at the same discrete intervals. This results in jumpy nosewheel steering that's pretty annoying. The nosewheel should turn smoothly and follow the tiller input continuously. Watch this short viedo clip to see what I'm talking about.

It's very unlikely that this is caused by anything to do with my setup as this issue seems identical to a previous issue with the F28 Professional which was acknowledged and fixed a couple of weeks after release. Take a look at this V1 Sim live stream clip to see the same problem on the F28 (before it was fixed).

Anyone else seeing the same behavior?

@VIZIX Thank you for reporting this. I seem to recall this quirk was fixed in the F28 once we added the fully custom-coded landing gear and nose wheel steering systems. As a fully custom-coded landing gear/nose wheel steering system is quite a lot of work, so at this time we wouldn't be able to give any firm timeframe for when this will be fixed, but we do have it logged on our internal bugs/tracker for us to investigate.

Thanks @Mark. I understand. I hope this gets a fairly high priority since it would greatly improve the user experience.

@Mark is this a problem that developed with the recent update? Because i had no trouble (besides the turn radius at certain speeds but we all know that this seems to be on Asobo´s end.) until then, but can confirm reported behavior...

    regards

@BAEflyer I don't believe we have made any direct changes to the nose wheel steering since the original release of the 146, but we did make some improvements to the ground handling with the 146 V2 update which may have had an effect.

I am also having this issue, often finding it difficult to taxi in a straight line and makes taking off a little more fun.

I can't recall if I had it before.
