Autopilot problems using GPS navigation
-
So I got a new PC and wanted to take the Fokker for a spin. Did everything as I normally do, but this time the GPS didn't seem to work together with the autopilot. It doesn't seem to give the HSI any guideance, so the plane will just fly straight, heading mode doesn't work either.
I have tried to cycle from GPS to VLOC on the GPS, go direct to a waypoint but none if it made any difference. However, it seems like heading mode works when turning off the GPS option in the EFB.
Any ideas what could cause this?

@Oredge This may seem counterproductive at first, but in MSFS if you go to Content Manager and search for "530", it'll show a list of all the installed GNS 430/530s.
There should be two GNS 430/530s listed in Content Manager:
"Garmin GNS 430/530" - This is the old Working Title GNS 430/530 that used to be used to enhance the default GPS in earlier versions of MSFS. I believe this is no longer updated and has been superseded by the below. This can be installed and uninstalled through Content Manager.
"Working Title GNS430/530" - This is the default GNS 430/530 in MSFS. In the latest versions of MSFS, this was developed by Working Title and is updated with every MSFS sim update. This cannot be installed and uninstalled through Content Manager.
If installed, try uninstalling the "Garmin GNS 430/530" from Content Manager, restarting MSFS, and try a flight with the F28. That should ensure you are running the correct version of the GNS 430/530 that is compatible with the F28.
Hope that helps.

@Oredge I have just tested this on my end and it's working correctly, so that suggests there may be some mod conflict that is causing issues with the F28 and/or Working Title GNS530.
In order to check if this is a mod conflict, we would recommend that you rename your Community folder to something like "Community.old", then create a new Community folder named "Community" in the same location, and then install the F28 into the new folder. Launch MSFS with only the F28 in your new Community folder and then see if the autopilot/GPS is now working correctly. If it is working correctly, that confirms there is a conflict with another mod in your old Community folder.

I saw this as well the other day before switching back to no GPS. I haven't tried the above solution yet but will give it ago. My only other thought is It's an issue with the TDS being installed but I had it deactivated at the time so I don't think that's it.

@Mark I did what you said, renamed the community folder and then it worked. I thought that this was strange, since the only things I have in my community folder are (payware) scenery and aircrafts, the same ones that I had on my old PC in fact. Nothing that should interfere with the f28...
So I decided to do another reinstallation, removing the program using the Windows tool. But since I renamed the community folder it didn't uninstall it at all, so I ran the installer on top of the installed one already. All of the sudden it worked! Not sure how, but I have done 2 test flights now without any issues at all.
