BEAM MODE trouble to follow radial
-
Dear JustFlight team,
I spotted a bug with the radial following...
cruising FL310 with high cross wind around 60-70kts.
The aircraft had difficulties to fly radial in BEAM mod, it is like following a gost-radial with a deviation around 5 to 8 degrees differential when long range, and getting worst by closing in the VOR, with a deviation of 5 to 15 degrees.
Some pictures joined to illustrate.

This isn't something I have seen reported before, but I am wondering if it could be caused by the very strong crosswind.
We would like to try and reproduce this one, but before we do so, do you recall if you had the GPS enabled or disabled at the time of this screenshot? As that will have an effect on the autopilot's behaviour behind the scenes depending on if it is visible.
Also, would you be able to send us the full route of this flight for us to try?

I will say that I've also experienced the JF F28 autopilot with GPS disabled struggling to follow a VOR radial in strong crosswinds before.

Hello @Mark ,
Glad I can help. Please found the OFP I used attached to this message,
you will then have my route, weights (KG) and weather conditions. To answer the question, I never used the GPS function, it has always been unchecked, I assume it was the case for this flight as well. But it isn't the first time I am spotting those deviations.
Let me know if you need anything else,
Alex
