I've been trying to start up the Vulcan several times now, following multiple tutorials and the Checklist, but no matter what i do, the A R E Lights wont extinguish. Is anyone else having this issue?

I haven't yet found a consistent way to do it but I normally get there in the end. Basically start the engines then press the 3 leftmost. This causes the majority of the lower rows to extinguish. I then press the top illuminated ones which then go out and like you I'm left with A R E illuminated. I then press the A R and E to opposite state and re-press the left 3 - often I end up with all good. If not I descend into mashing all the buttons until they go out :-)

The cheat I think is to do what most streamers do and use rapid start but I enjoy the individual way.

I know it's me doing something wrong but I have followed the checklist/tutorial and still get it wrong - senior moment prolly...

@HellCat_AxG there is a spring-loaded switch on the rightside console labelled autopilot - flick that once and then try powering up again. According to the manual that is required to reset a "non-standard" disconnect.

Hopefully it'll learn that all my 'non-standard' disconnects have become 'standard'.

@HellCat_AxG The Artificial Feel lights on the right side of the PFC panel are a different type of button compared to the other 10 PFC Motor buttons so they are easy to get tripped up by!

The correct procedure for starting the PFCs would be to push all 10 of the PFC unit buttons along the bottom of the panel to ensure the lights are illuminated, then pull UP the three artificial feel buttons at the right side of the panel, and then press the three PFC START buttons in order of A-E-R with 1-second intervals between presses. Then once all those lights extinguish, the Pitch Dampers and Mach Trimmer buttons can then be pulled UP to extinguish those lights.

Thanks for the clear process! I also found today that not closing the #3 and #4 alternator switches on the AAP left side panel will prevent the top row extinguishing.... The fact that there are 2 panels both with alternators 1,2,3, and 4 does confuse me, hence the request for the deeper dive video. Although tbh, instructions as clear as the one you just provided for the overall electrical system would also be great :-)
