Engines 1 and 4 cut out mid-flight.
-
Hi there,
Loving the mighty Tin Triangle so far!
I had an issue on my second flight that I can't quite explain. The outboard engines (1 and 4) shut down of their own accord, and would not restart without using rapid start, and only after I'd shut off auto engine anti-ice. The inner engines (2 and 3) were fine.
Any ideas what might have caused this? I'm guessing maybe engine air switches?
Kind regards,
Simon. -
I had this also but managed (by trial and success) to restart in the air. I can't be certain but I think I heard a click just before that so assumed I hit one of those phantom MSFS clickspots but it was strange that it was only 1 and 4.
The good news is that performance on 2 engines is more than good enough to keep altitude and figure out what to do :-)

In theory, in the absence of failures, the engines should only shut down due to a lack of fuel flow. And that should only occur if the LP cocks (under the coaming/glareshield) or HP cocks (throttle levers) are closed, the fuel pump controls (centre console) are incorrectly configured, i.e. are not all on, or there's insufficient fuel.
