Engineering Panel / Secondary Panel Cant Click Switches
-
I have followed the startup procedures and watched a few videos to start it from cold and dark. When navigating to the panel where the battery switch is and the AAPP is, it will not let me click on anything. I can just fine in the cockpit. Seems I am the only one with these issues after trying to google it. I have navigated to that panel through the EFB and the screw like button towards the top of the cockpit and neither way works. What could my issue be or what am I doing wrong. Thanks much.

@EverydayAviatorYT Use the 'Legacy' interaction system in the MSFS settings.

@Pilot-Pyles Awesome! Thank you! Did not even think of trying that.

Have you considered optionally grafting the panels to the rear wall of the cockpit and setting up an instrument camera there, if you can't just put them into small boxes somewhere behind the cockpit or so? That way you'd get out of the showcase camera and could have it all in one space with (somewhat) smooth transition.
The big thing with Lock mode for me is that it's much better to click and drag controls than to hunt for the clickspots when using headtracking. It doesn't help that MSFS has somehow devolved in clickspot placing, and it feels way less intuitive to find them than it did in X-Plane or FSX. Highlighting the part of a control you're interacting with is a nice bonus, that can be tricky with stacked rotaries, although it can get overbearing when an entire yoke start flashing blue and yellow.

@Pilot-Pyles Is this for the flight model? Or is there another legacy setting to select? I changed the flight model from modern to legacy and still cannot use the switches. Thanks in advance!

@Danb217 they are distinct things I believe - what's being talked about here is the control or interaction scheme. Not 100% certain - all I know is I could not live with the "highlighting" so I've stayed in (I think) legacy for ever. Just wander through the options menus - there's not a massive amount to scan.
