Pitch bar on ADI
-
When I set the aircraft up following checklists etc, and prior to taking off, the pitch bar on the ADI remains at zero. Once airborne and after syncing, the pitch bar will move to the current pitch being held in the climb. My question is, if I set up the aircraft by clicking on the ready for take off state on the EFB, the pitch bar commands a 10 degrees up input prior to taking off. Am I missing something by manually setting the aircraft up for flight? Thanks guys.

Yes, there is a button on the yoke that will set the flight director for takeoff.

@Highlander_821 thank you for your reply, but I don’t see a button on the yoke for this. I understand that pressing the a/p disconnect on the yoke will activate go around mode and position the flight director bar at 10 degrees nose up, but I don’t wish to select GA on first take off. I can’t find anything in the manual about it, anyway thanks again.

The vertical flight director can be controlled either by the UP/DOWN rocker switch on the Autopilot panel, or by using the INCREASE AP PITCH HOLD REFERENCE and DECREASE AP PITCH HOLD REFERENCE control assignments.
Normal procedure in the 146 is to set the vertical flight director bar to 10 degrees nose up prior to takeoff as a reference point, but it doesn't have any effect on the aircraft without the Autopilot engaged so you should still be fine to takeoff with it set to 0 if it gets forgotten.
