HDG and BEAM conflict?

When flying on Autopilot, sometimes I am not able to switch from HDG to Beam and viceversa without turning off and then turning on the Autopilot switch. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong.

@flyforever HDG mode should always be able to be engaged regardless of what other autopilot modes are selected, but BEAM mode should only be able to be selected if an active NAV frequency is tuned in the VHFNAV radios, or a GPS course is active on the GNS530.
If you aren't able to select HDG mode, then that does sound like something strange is going on.
Could kindly raise a support ticket at the following link, with some steps to reproduce the issue? If you could put in the ticket what navigation option you were using at the time that would be a great help to us when trying to reproduce the issue (No GNS 530 selected, GNS530 selected with GPS mode, or GNS530 selected with VLOC mode).
