Speedbrake blowback
-
Just testing todays patch and two observations so far:
-
It now seems to extend a lot even at high speed. The pic below shows c. 30 deg at 250kts and It was even effective at 270. Helpful but doesn't line up with the new flight control video?
-
Bizarrely - if I deploy in outside drone view - visually it's like the brakes are slammed on and the plane perceptibly slows aginst the cloud backdrop - really weird effect :-)
Major plus so far is the vastly improved pitch control - no kamikaze yet!

@b3lt3r Great to hear the pitch improvements can be seen! We've been testing this update extensively for the past month and we haven't experienced any of the pitch issues that could be replicated with the previous version, so hopefully all users can have the same experience.
With regards to the speed brake blowback feature, the actual aircraft manual states:
"When the speedbrakes are selected fully out at an airspeed of more than 190 knots, they will only travel as far as to provide a constant deceleration of 0.1 g until a speed of 190 knots is reached. During that period the speedbrakes will creep open."
The speedbrakes have been completely recoded from the ground up as part of the flight control system re-code. The actual operation of the speedbrake we are confident is accurate, but the actual effectiveness we found is something that is quite subjective. Some testers found the speedbrakes to be too effective, whereas other testers found the speedbrakes to not be effective enough. In the end, we made the decision to increase its effectiveness across the entire speed range when compared to the previous versions.
The act of opening the speedbrake and the aircraft decelerating is likely what is causing the MSFS camera to move to/from the aircraft. Unfortunatly, the MSFS camera behavior isn't something we have any control over.
We can always fine-tune the speedbrake effectiveness further based on user feedback, so please do keep feeding back these comments and we can look into making any required changes for a future update to the F28.

@mark Will do thank you - I had seen the 0.1g spec but it "felt" a lot more effective than that. Given how slippery the little Fokker is it's nice being able to chuck the anchors out but I'll take the realistic version always.
Please do check the outside view - to me it was very noticeable against clouds - I was in a 4000 at the time.
My pax must have had bulletproof bladders because I didn't get any toilet visits but I did see one cabin call - for me, it all adds heaps to the immersion.
Keep up the great work on this fantastic plane - remains my #1 choice!
