GPS and cockpit resolution
-
Gi,
Got 2 questions;
-
Why is the text on cockpit textures so blurry, really have to zoom in to being able to read what's next to a switch or knob. And is it me or do the switches and knobs look like a flat 2D image instead of 3d when zoomed out a bit?
-
How realistic is the use of a GPS unit in the F28? Where there variants that had GPS?
Thanks in advance!

@capt-pip If your textures are blurry I'd raise a support ticket with JF and I'm sure they'll assist - not seen that issue mentioned elsewhere.
Re GPS - I believe the GNS as it is now is just a stop-gap to help people who prefer not to navigate with VORs (and where there are no VORs). We're expecting a proper FMS implementation at some point and that was definitely retro-fitted in F28s - see some photos from other threads here.
As ever - the way it's implemented makes it a personal choice if you see it or not which is always the best way.

@capt-pip That's not what I see - I run the 4k textures at 1440 with TAA and things are sharper I believe. The only thing I need to zoom in for on the overhead is the pressurisation control. That's mainly my rubbish eyes tbh - what I struggle with is the instrument dials on the main panel - alt, ias and FD because they are too small and the colours blend into the background (for me) - sharp doesn't really help me :-)
This is why I pop out panels when I can but unfortuately on the F28 the only thing I can do that with is the GNS.
Like I said - it seems like you have an issue so worth a ticket I think.

@capt-pip I have this feeling of little bit blurry instrumentations too. Nothing dramatic but if I compare with other analog cockpit, like the BAe146, instrumentation is more clear and easy to read. That’s one of my only big problem with this aircraft.. set the correct heading bug on the HSI, maintain speed at the perfect knot or adjust rpm engine.. it’s sometimes painful for my eyes.
Yes I can zoom but it’s not easy when flying without AP during take off or landing -
.....This is why I pop out panels when I can but unfortuately on the F28.....
Try out JayDee's toolbar gauge for the F28 (flightsim.to). Gives you all the relevant information at the bottom of the screen. Easy to adapt to your specific requirements.
