@woolies Yes we can use this table, but how to choose the correct OAT to de-rated engine? Charts with take-off distance with different weight, OAT, flaps setting is needed.

Guess you need to get yourself a copy of a Flight Manual for the F28 to get all the info you need?

On the Fokker 28 there is 3 possibilities to set engines for takeoff:

        • Full throttle (ok easy to set πŸ˜„)
        • Rated take-off thrust (P7 set take-off) > this one described on the tutorial and JF manual
        • Flexible take-off thrust > who should be normally used on long runway and normal condition, and not possible to set because of missing performance information. Charts with take off distance depending of the TOW, OAT, pressure altitude and flaps setting is needed and missing.

Ha, that is always the challenge, finding all the info you need from a copy of an operations manual.

@woolies it should be found on the Flight Handbook volume 2, but unfortunately impossible to get a copy.

Derated take off is calculated using the same tables for normal take off. Just select a row with temperature higher than current, and altitude according to current atm conditions, interpolate and set the index with that value.

@taguilo how to select the correct higher temperature? You cannot choose randomly, takeoff distance charts are missing for that.

You won't find the take off distance tables in that manual, there's a sample page but it would have been a separate booklet kept in the cockpit along with the speed cards.

Indeed. Tis a shame that the majority of the documentation for these old aircraft die with them when they get scrapped.

@piedmonitor Thanks for the advise, won’t spend 48$ for nothing. The information is on the Flight Handbook volume 2. I have bought the volume 1 and training book for 10$, but unfortunately the volume 2 or 3 is not available.

@woolies yes very sad.. when scrapping documentation, on the past people did not imagine that one day the aircraft will be flyable again on simulator!
