    Is there a timer/stop watch function on the 146? I fiddled with the switches on the clock (the one on the Captain's side) but couldn't make any timer work. I basically wanted to use it in VOR hold scenario.

      Not the best of stop watches in this bird.
      146 timer
      It is activated by the lower right button. 1 push to start and the lower dial starts running - on my screenshot it is approaching 1 minute. Another push to stop the timer and the third resets it to zero, ready to start again.
      Top right operates the upper dial, suited for longer durations like total flight time.

        Thanks a lot!

        One more question: What units of measurement does the upper dial use?

          @bongobear
          Top one is in the style of a classic clock with two hands - one for minutes another for hours. So for a VOR hold you would want to use the lower one (or maybe just note the position of the hand showing seconds on the big clock - though that can also be problematic!).
