Hi the PA-28 warrior II is a fantastisk AC, congratulations, but lately i have found that long flights on ap with heading engaged, results in compas drift, (that is ok, it is normal in real life also. the problem is here that the drift can not be reset. currently the instruments indicate course 200, but the ac is pointing 180 on my Skydeamon navigation that i use irl. have tried ctrl d, and turning the gyrocompas (that matches the magnetic by the way) design flaw or fault 40 ? brg peter grumman aa5 driver

@pesc usually I just hit D, not ctrl d. Can you turn the knob to adjust it?

I mapped a button to Heading Indicator or something like that, just press that whenever I change headings to sync the compass. I think if you use the CDI it doesn't drift, but I like the older style compass card.

I dont mind that the gyro drift, but the magnetic compas seemes to be slaved to it 🥴 will revert later today with better data sorry, this is more complicated than i thought 🥴

i started out abt 1 hour ago going straight south both on gyro and alcohol compas.

engaged autopilot with heading and alt on

abt 90 minutes later both the gyro and the alcohol compas has changed heading, but the heading bug on the gyro is still placed on 180 deg, so is it compas/gyro or ap that is at fault ?

sorry abt the dropbox link, but it is what my capabilities manage at the moment :-)

@pesc that is odd, I thought with the CDI, there wouldn't be any drift. It may be worth submitting a ticket to JF, if nothing else to get an explanation of what's happening.

Yes if it was only the gyro i could understand it, but when the alcohol compas also moves then….
Ill lodge a ticket, will let you know how i go 👍
