F-14 RIO missing in VR

One of the things I've always loved about the DC Design F14 in VR is when you look right around, you can see the RIO (radio intercept officer) back there - the helmet, them looking about etc.. all very "talk to me goose" if you get my drift.
Having not played for a couple of months with other commitments, I got back into it this weekend to find the RIO gone - just an empty seat - in all F14 liveries, A and B variants.
External camera view I can see both the pilot and RIO, but VR cockpit, he's gone.
I've tried removing all mods from community folder, I reset all settings to default, I went as far as uninstalling/re-installing the game plus F14 add on - nothing brings it back.
Anyone else have this happen?
