Panel lights flickering

Tonight I flew the Warrior at night for a change and noticed that the panel lights were flickering. The effect changes when I change my view direction a bit. Some gauges are worse than others so I doubt it is a control problem.
After takeoff the problem seems to be less of an issue and later in the flight it seemed to have gone away. Both the panel lights and the red floodlight seem to be affected.
I also tried the JustFlight Arrow III and the problem did not occur there.
