Traffic in air is only between departure and arrival airports?

The only traffic I see in the skies is between my departure airport and the airport I set as my destination? Is it not possible to see all scheduled traffic flying?

@twentyfivehundred Mine is showing not only planes going to my destination (KEWR) this is flying at about midnight sim time.

I don't even get any arrivals at the departure airport, just departures. Hope that's not an intended feature, as that would be rubbish.

@nick I have the full show going on (departure/arrival/enroute). It's based on historical schedule so I would check time/day etc.

It's weird for me, within 160nm range in the ND, above the busy sky in Europe, just 4 planes. Took off from LSZH to LEMD.

@qazme I have tested more today and am getting arrivals now at some airports, but still not as many as I would expect. Still, better than nothing.
