Is my default view too high?
-
The first image is my default view, which looks really high to me. And the second image is after clicking increase cockpit view height, and the view snaps to a height lower than default.
Is my default view height somehow messed up and higher than it should be?

It looks like your default VFR Pilot view has been modified from the original. You can reset it to the original aircraft default view by pressing [SHIFT] + [F10].
You can also easily create a custom default VFR Pilot view for the aircraft by adjusting the view position using the arrow keys, along with the zoom level and the view pan and tilt, to your preferred settings and then saving it by pressing [CTRL] + [F10]. You can make much finer view position adjustments with the arrow keys by first opening the COCKPIT CAMERA menu and setting the FREELOOK SPEED slider to minimum (10).

@retiredman93231 Thanks about the VFR Pilot view info. I actually never knew there were IFR/VFR view presets. I did fix this problem elsewhere however... It's the General Options -> Camera -> Height slider. It was 60 for some reason. Setting it to 50 gives something close to my second image.
