As far as I can see, my settings are all correct, but engines 2-4 won't start. Only engine 1. This happens from time to time, and in my feeling mostly when I have done the DC/AC pump tests before starting the engines. When I reload and follow the exact same steps (but without the AC/DC pump test), it works fine. Seems like a bug to me. But please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

As you say your settings look reasonable. I have had occasional start issues but they have (so far) always been due to two root causes.

        1. Forgetting to switch the 3 fuel pumps on in addition to left-inner for the APU
        2. Flicking the engine start switch down instead of up which does not engage the ignition and not looking at the console when I've clicked it

Both are directly due to me thinking I know what I'm doing and don't need to be religious with my checklists 🙂 Instead I try to multi-task and "streamline" my flows to make my VA off-block time.....

** edit - just looked at your jpgs - it's probably the angle the photo is taken but it does look almost as if the start master isn't on? Like I say, most likely angle.

As mentioned on the MS forum, it's worth checking that you don't have any controls inadvertently assigned to mixture or fuel related events. As above, you also have the start master switch turned off in your screenshot but presumably that was switched on for engine start?

@martyn Start master was indeed ON and turned OFF after the engine didn't start. There are no bindings, as my axis are controlled externally and they are not sending any event that I didn't assign.

The strange thing is that a simple reload of the aircraft, and then following the exact same steps solves the issue. It happened a couple of times now, and each time, this reload solves it.

It seems that it is either engine 1 that isn't starting, or engines 2-4. So you would almost suspect the TMS to interfere with the engine start?!

@thefly77 TMS is supposed to be off for engine start for that very reason, I'm unsure what the effects of leaving it on are but that's as good a place to start as any.

@jmarkows That's what I do indeed. It is pure guessing from my side that something from the TMS is still blocking engine start even when the TMC is off. It seems that I'm the only one experiencing this, so I'm going to run more tests to see if I can isolate the issue on my side.

Still struggling with this issue, and it is such a shame. Just can't fly this plane due to this. Would really appreciate some help.

                      @derek Thanks.

It seems I finally figured it out. Fault on my side. Without controls it starts fine. So it must be something in the bindings which I am going to dig deeper in now.

Just for the record in case somebody else has this issue:
I had my throttles bound to:
                        THROTTLE1_SET
                        THROTTLE2_SET
                        etc

                        I changed this to:
                        THROTTLE1_AXIS_SET_EX1
                        THROTTLE2_AXIS_SET_EX1
                        etc

And now it seems to work fine! Back in the air!!!!
