Possible pressurization bugs

    Hi,

    I found a couple issues with cabin pressurization in alpine airports that may be bugs. Please check this out:

    Scenario 1:

    • Fly to a high elevation port, e.g., SLCC at 12600'
    • At flight level cabin pressure is equivalent to 8000' elevation
    • During the descent cabin does not decompress further in auto mode, this is as expected
    • On the ground set the mode selector to manual, full open discharge valves to decompress
    • Cabin pressure pointer gradually goes to roughly 12000' but the delta-P pointer is stuck at 2 PSI

    Expectation: delta-P pointer should drop to zero

    Scenario 2:

    • Start in a high altitude port
    • Cabin pressure is equivalent to the sea level, pointer is at the zero mark
    • You can still open pax and cargo doors, this causes rapid decompression

    Expectation:

    • Cabin pressure should be initialized according to the airfield elevation
    • Should it be possible to open doors with pressure inside much higher than outside? I do not know about the door design on 146 but I doubt this is physically possible in real life

      Try operating within the Ops Manual and see what happens.

        Indeed. But this does not change anything in scenario 2: start in SCCF at 7600', initial cabin pressure will be at 0', which is unexpected, and you can open the doors using EFB despite the 3.5 PSI diff pressure.

        As for scenario 1, this is by no means a serious problem but I believe the model should behave reasonably realistic even outside normal operating conditions. JF went as far as to implement manual pressurization control, which is awesome, and the ALT needle behaves as expected but the delta-P needle does not. This should be quite easy to fix.
