Pitch trim runs way too slow, Flight idle appears too high,
-
Overall great job with the plane, just some observations I noticed right at the start.
The electric pitch trim runs way too slow. Frequently when making a change in configuration and neither the electric pitch trim nor the autopilot trim can keep up with the change in trim needed. For example when extending flaps from 0 to 18 degrees just below Vfe for 18, the aircraft balloons at a rate the pitch trim cannot keep up with. I've also noticed that when the autopilot is following the GS on an ILS it frequently ends up going low and can't keep up with the needed pitch indicated by the FD.
Also, Flight idle appears to be way too high. In level flight at idle it's difficult to get this aircraft to slow down even to Vfe. Should be losing about 10 knots per nm if not more when at Idle in level flight.
Just seem tweaks that seem to need to be addressed!

@firestorm108 I’ve noticed the idle is high as well, but I believe it might be due to the TMS being in DESC mode. Next time I fly, I’m going to turn it off on short approach and see if that helps.

Flight idle appears to be way too high
I've found this too on occasion but managed to link it back to the anti icing systems.
I believe but cannot confirm with the provided sim manual that the Engine Anti-Ice system requires/wants the engines to be above about 50% N1 so therefore it keeps the virtual engine throttles above that no matter how far you lower your physical throttle.
I fly in Alaska primarily however so I have just adjusted my SOPs to slow with airbrake rather than normal, no anti-ice, idle power -
Normal min descent is 60% N2. Anything below that and you will get engine air faults as there isn't sufficient bleed air to meet bleed demand. Once transferred to APU Air you can bring the power back a bit further, althought I can't remember the Ground/Air Idle figures but they are different.
With Eng Anti Ice selected you'll need about 65ish% N2 and above to keep sufficient bleed flow.

We model the flight idle baulk so even with TMS DESC mode not selected, you will find the N2 above 60% with the thrust levers fully retarded, unless you use the latches to bring them aft of the flight idle baulks. We are looking at the flight dynamics with regards to descent rate at flight idle.
We will also look at the pitch trim speed.
