General question re VOR planning
-
First - obsessed with and spending far too much time in this a/c - amazing achievement by JF!
My question relates to flight planning in this a/c:
Should I try to get as close to IFR routes as possible within the constraints of VOR availability or just go VOR to VOR direct?
I got reasonably close yesterday with an EGKK - EDDL leg but once into the STAR it obviously wasn't going to work. Basically I overflew the field at MHA and vectored round to the ILS as shown on the approach plate.
Just curious how it should be done.

@b3lt3r How it's done IRL: ATC tells you where to go.
In lieu of ATC, I'd choose a published departure and arrival if available (non-RNAV), and just connect them with VORs and high-altitude airways. You don't have to follow airways, though they do help guarantee VOR reception.
