I've only flown the -200, but the EFB won't allow me to load more than about 2500 lbs in each compartment, give or take.

Simbrief has been loading me with over 5k total so I dug through the manual to find the values to correct my Simbrief profiles with, but I found that each compartment, per page 212, should hold almost 3400 lbs.

Has anyone else seen this? 102 passengers, about 11000 lbs of fuel, and I can only load 2500 pounds of baggage instead of 3400.

    Might submit a ticket.

As a rule of thumb, a cargo compartment will have space for around 50% of the maximum weight before the hold are bulks out due lack of space. The hold allowance of 3400 lbs will have space for approximately 1700 lbs of suitcases.
Having said that - maybe you're carrying gold bullion, in which case I have no answer!!!!! 😉

@ggi It's mainly because Simbrief keeps giving me 5000+ pounds of cargo which I can't fit. I'd gladly fix the profiles but the manual only gives a value of 3400. I had an open ticket with support for one or two other things so I just added that to the pile and we'll see what comes of it.

Remember also that the figures in the manual are limits, so you'll probably be limited by CG and/or MTOW before you hit maximum permissible weight in those compartments.

There does however appear to be a discrepancy of approx. 1500lbs between the maximum weights selectable using the EFB and manual figures across both compartments, so we'll investigate that.

@martyn Thanks for that. That was the latest reply on the ticket, what you said about the CG and MTOW, but I don't believe I've hit MTOW and even removing passengers and fuel from the plane doesn't let me add them.

Do you happen to know, for planning purposes and Simbrief profiles, how much weight each passenger adds to the 146?

@jmarkows We use the standard 170 lbs per passenger weight.
