Radio Navaids not working?
-
Hi all,
I have just spent the last couple of days troubleshooting a bizarre fault where my AC failed to detect any radio Navaids, VOR, DME, ILS - everything. I confirmed this by visiting a number of areas with a high density of Navaids and trying to get any kind of response from my HSI or DBI but to no avail.
I did a fresh install of MSFS, tried uninstalling then reinstalling the latest version of the 146, 0.1.2 but the AC still did not detect any Navaids. I then tried unassigning everything except throttles, flaps and speed brake on my Bravo throttle with no joy. Looking for some hidden option on the FMS I was somewhat confused when going IDX - VORDME CTL and seeing VOR usage NO in green and unable to switch it to YES. I moved on. Next I removed any previous Working Title mods from my Community folder in case of a conflict there. No joy. As a last resort I emptied everything from my Community folder except the folder containing the BAE146. I spawned at Heathrow, tuned in 113.6 on Nav1 and 115.6 on Nav2 and Boom! HSI and DBI sprung to life.
I have no idea what inside my Community folder caused the issue, I will just have to add 1 item at a time until the culprit is found.
If I can pin it down I will let everyone know but if anyone else has had this issue I hope this might help. Additionally, if anyone can shed any light on a specific cause I will be intrigued to hear.Cheers!

Update.
After many, many restarts I have found the problem folder.
When this is in my community folder the AC does not pick up any Navaids. Without the folder my Navigraph appears to be functional both in the EFB and from the icon on the MSFS overhead tool bar. I'm guessing that something in this folder is conflicting with the Navigraph implementation in the AC resulting in the HSI and DMI not receiving Navaid signals but I am no expert. Any Navigraph users who know what the above folder does, feel free to comment.

@wyzbowski I have Navigraph and this folder, but I do not have any issue with it. I can receive navaids. This folder does contain bgl files so this is used by MSFS. May be you could verify over at Navigraph?

@wyzbowski I had that as well. Even though I updated the navdata from Navigraph using their app, I deleted the existing folders inside the Community Folder and reinstalled the AIRAC. So far that seems to have done it! I hope this helps you.

@martijncoenen Well so far everything appears to be working with Navigraph. It's super strange how you don't have issues with that folder but I do. Another Microsoft mystery.

@bearviation As I told @MartijnCoenen, everything appears to be working but I have only been flying the 146 since I removed the folder from my Community. At least I'm not the only person whom these Navigraph files have been causing issues with. I had to triple check it beforeI confirmed this folder was causing the Naiads issue. Maybe it's to do with what order you install software and something gets overwritten or corrupted? Who knows, if I run into problems with Navigraph functionality with other aircraft I will go down your route with deletion and reinstallation.
