GTN750 & Approaches in Arrow III

I asked this question in the MSFS forum, but maybe better here. I use the GTN750 in the Arrow III, but for IFR flight plans prepared with LNM there's maybe a problem. So, I add an RNAV approach into the flight plan in LNM. The approach is supposed to be automatically activated by the GTN750 when the last waypoint before the approach is reached (I'm sure I read that somewhere!). But that doesn't happen, so I guess you have to activate the approach manually when you get cleared by ATC? Hopefully before the last waypoint before the approach. Is that right?
