    Hello,

As in the topic, after last update pitch trim is extremly sensitive in SU8 beta. it is impossible to trim an airplane for level flight.

Most likely because of one alteration to remove the 'pitch jerks' referred to elsewhere. I was concerned that this would be an issue.

@delta558 If you do come out with an update to revert this, can you make it an option between the old way and the new (0.10.2) way? I personally prefer the new way, because I no longer have to crank my Honeycomb bravo trim wheel around 50 times to stop a climb.

I do appreciate that more options makes things more complicated though, so if it is reverted I can probably find a way to multiply the input of my hardware trim wheel

I had the issue in Turbo Arrow, with the trim being very sensitive and taking a lot of input to be applied. Could probably be rectified with a different input curve in the controls options, but then that applies to all the planes. Maybe possible to apply a trim multiplier in the settings inside the virtual tablet?

@delta558 Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. I never saw any pitch jerks, but now the plane is nigh unflyable. A little tap on the trim and I go screaming up or down by +-600fpm

Could everyone be more specific on this. How are adjusting the trim? By mouse in the cockpit? By hardware? If by hardware, what are you using to control it, the built in control options or 3rd party software?

Reason I ask is I use spad, and have never had any issue with trimming or whatever this "pitch jerk" thing is. A similar issue was brought up about another plane, and when I changed my settings from spad to the sims control options for the trim I saw what was being talked about.

@jmarkows Are you also using the SU8 beta? We currently support only SU7 so it'd be good to confirm if this issue is affecting SU7 users too.

As above, it'd also be useful to know your trim control method. I have no issues with trimming for level flight with buttons assigned to trim up/down events, so does this only affect the axis event?

    @martyn Yes, I am using SU8.

I have two methods of trim: the wheel on the Logitech Multifunction Panel, which still works tolerably well because of the fine control it gives, and the trim up/down commands on my yoke that cause the wild swings. The wheel on the Logitech isn't an axis I don't think.

Someone replied in a topic on the FS forums about it that they're not seeing the wild pitch swings, but they're still using the mainline SU7.

Will give it a try later today, thanks for getting it uploaded and posted.

Question: what do you mean by "electric trim button is off?" When I use the tab on my yoke for trim up/down I see the button on the VC yoke move, which I assume is the electric trim, but I have no idea how to turn it off.

@jmarkows There is a pushbutton just below where the left yoke meets the instrument panel (easier to see with the yoke hidden).

    Martyn,

Thanks for putting together and releasing the hotfix. The heading bug is how working again, and the pitch trim is definitely better l, though still far more sensitive than it was previously. I'm only adding a little bit, just a tap on the up/down switch, but it has a drastic effect. I don't immediately go flying up or down anymore, but climb attitude and level flight are certainly using far less trim now.

Not sure if that's intentional or not with the new flight model. I'm just used to the old one and I have no experience with the real thing to know either way

Although, I'm having an issue with the heading bug; it used to increment by one with each "click," now it will randomly start jumping by 10 or more and go flying around the DG. It's useable, just annoying, and it didn't happen previously.

@jmarkows Agree, not sure the pitch trim sensitivity is all that much better after the hotfix, even with the electric trim turned off.

Heading bug is working, but wish it didn't have the acceleration when the key is held down.

Thanks for confirming the fix. We can easily remove the acceleration feature.

Maybe it's a bit sensitive, but for my part, I'm super happy that I'm finally able to use my Bravo trim wheel and feel like it's actually doing something. haha

Is the acceleration removed in the 10.3 installer? The notes don't say one way or the other.
