Clean Textures are the Same Textures
-
In the manual is written :
'Both texture sets can be found in the ‘\justflight-aircraft-pa28-warrior-ii\Cockpit\’ folder and replace the files
found in ‘\justflight-aircraft-pa28-warrior-ii\SimObjects\Airplanes\JF_PA28_Warrior\TEXTURE.VC’ folder.'I did just what it says. I took the clean textures and copied and pasted them and replaced them in the TEXTURE.VC folder but when in the sim they are exactly the same.
What am I missing here?

@rich Ahh, thanks for responding. I didn't install them with the sim running so I expected them to show when I did start the sim but nothing changed.
Are you suggesting I should install them and start the sim then close it again and then start it again? What exactly do you mean by the sim hanging onto textures? I admit, I'm new to this iteration of flight sim but I'm most certainly not new to flight sim and have never heard of such a thing.

@jazz I just pasted the new textures in to see if it would work and it is definitely different. I copied all the files from the Clean folder into the Texture.VC folder (after backing up the original). It asked me to replace 6 files, which I did, and it's definitely different. I never try to change anything with the sim running, there lies madness.

I can't seem to get the images to load here, but they are definitely different. I am going to reinstall the old ones, the clean look too.... clean, to me.
Just looking more closely at the images I snapped, and some of the textures are cleaner, like around the radios, while others, like the heat and air controls or the rudder trim, have not changed. Again, I still like the more worn look so it doesn't bother me.

@katchaplin Exactly what I did. Replaced the files when asked and when I load the sim nothing has changed. The carpet still has not seen a vacuum cleaner, nasty stains where my arm has been, Upholstery that has seen 10,000 farts, scratches on the yoke and knobs, Windscreen with scratches all over it.
It's almost as if the textures in the "Clean" folder are exactly the same as the old ones. If there is a difference I sure can't see it. What exactly are you seeing that's different?

@jazz The wear around the radios is gone, was the most noticeable. Let me see if I can get the screenshots I took to load and you can see.

@katchaplin Hmm, no wonder I missed it. I will give it another try later and see if I have the same. I suspect I do but missed it as when it was implied "clean" I assumed the thing would have at least been valeted and had the hay, gravel and belly button fluff removed. 😂
Thanks, Kat.
