AHRS PUSH TO SYNC + RMB powers off HSI and AI
-
During the start-up checklist you have to synchronize the AHRS and HSI with the PUSH TO SYNC button. At the first attempt I used the LMB to push the button, but lacking a push animation, I figured I should use the LMB + RMB combination, as it necessary sometimes if you use the 'Locked' interaction mode. Surprisingly using LMB + RMB on this button powers off the HSI and Attitude Indicator. The Power Failure flags are showing for both indicators.
After that, there is no way to get them back on, I've tried resetting the DC and/or AC generator, shutting down the aircraft completely and then do a fresh start-up. Even using the aircraft states functionality of the EFB does not help. Restarting the flight is the only option.
My guess is that the alternative action, triggered by LMB+RMB, bound to the PUSH TO SYNC button somehow completely kills the AC.1 generator as this generator powers both the HSI and AI.

This seems to be a quirk of the lock interaction mode as that button is only coded to respond to LMB. What is happening when using LMB+RMB with the lock mode is that the button is remaining pushed in, and that results in the fail flags remaining visible. That's not an indication of AC failure though, just this:
"In the slaved and DG modes the HSI and the main attitude indicator power failure warning flags are displayed while the PUSH TO SYNC control is pressed."
If you have a mouse-wheel button then I've found a workaround to be that you hold the LMB and then press the mouse-wheel button, which then releases the button back to its off position.

Aha, so that's how it is supposed to work. In the Lock interaction mode nothing happens if you just press with LMB, with LMB+RMB it actually presses the button (hence the flags) and with LMB+MMB you release the button. A bit quirky, but it works. Thanks for the explanation!
For people who are struggling with the Lock interaction mode (like me):
LMB: Lock to the control. Move mouse pointer to operate the rotary (i.e. change heading).
LMB+RMB: Push the button.
LMB+MMB: Release the button.
