Whilst performing a hard turn it's normal to pull back on the stick to maintain height but I'm finding myself reaching for the stars (exaggeration)

Is this my issue, ie controller not set up correctly, I'm using a thrustmaster airbus controller) or a trait of the plane. My sensitivity is set up as per JF reccomendations

@chubster Because of its typical cruise speed (300 - 400 knots), this aircraft requires a really steep bank angle for a "hard turn". Try increasing your bank to at least 60 degrees, or more. This may feel very unnatural after flying the PA28... But it's very exciting and fun to make these high speed steep turns at low altitude, once you get the hang of it!
