I really enjoy flying this model, but has anyone noticed that it performs way better than the POH?

The difference is the highest in the takeoff characteristics. I used the Devmode ruler tool to measure the takeoff roll. According to POH, at sea level, standard atmosphere and no wind, ground roll to 50 kts should be 1000 ft. With this model in the same conditions I get 620 feet. It's 38% decrease!

Cruise performance is also better than POH:

According to POH, at 1000 ft MSL in ISA I should attain the following TAS numbers at the following power settings:

    55%: 92 ktas
    65%: 102 ktas
    75%: 108 kts
    Full throttle: 122 ktas

The model gives the following numbers:

    55%: 100 ktas (8.6% increase)
    65%: 108 ktas (5.8% increase)
    75%: 115 kts (6.4% increase)
Full throttle: 124 ktas (1.6% increase)

Notice: the POH calls for wheel fairings installed to get the book numbers, so I used wheel fairings.

I would like to hear from the JustFlight developers, if they are going to amend these differences. The difference in takeoff performance is the most drastic.

@delta558 2325 lbs, as the POH calls.

@walterbeech Asobo are currently (SU6 and 7) making large changes to the flight model, it's likely that once all that is done I'll be able to look at it again - hopefully ground handling will be one of these areas, because that is noted as being particularly poor. If I make changes now I would likely then have to re-make them when the updates are released and the timescales invoved for me personally make that a no-go.

            @delta558 I understand. I just hope you'll take a notice.

I noticed this as well but didn't actually measure it. What caused me to notice was my climb rate seemed about 50% more than what I get in real life and so I seemed to be getting to circuit height much earlier than I am used to.

If this could be looked into and matched up more closely to real life performance it would be greatly appreciated!

Just as a quick note - this will not be addressed in the upcoming PA28 series updates (which will cover more general fixes, W&B adjustment and a couple of specifics from the SU6 update which have finally been documented in the SDK), it will be after we get the chance to see what SU7 brings along in the way of flight model updates and hopefully ground handling improvements.

Just a quick further update on this - current files for ME (so not released yet), which will be in the upcoming update:

I'm testing out of Bidford as I know the field there rather well, the strip is roughly two and a half thousand ft, using standard ISA I'm taking a touch over a third the runway length to take off. It's not perfect, but given the upcoming prop adjustments it may get closer.
Climb rate, 600fpm is the aiming point for the setting and it is the rate at which speed is stable. I can hit 900fpm if I pull the nose up, but the speed is decreasing, so as far as I am concerned it is on the mark.
