    Tried adjusting lever etc but will not switch off.

    What am I missing ?

      @gabe777 I'm not sure what lever you are talking about but there is a lever called the "Emergency gear lever" in front of the trim wheel and next to the flap lever. It has 3 positions:

      • Up: disables auto gear extension, causing the amber light to flash
      • Middle: Enables auto extension
      • Down: Manual emergency extension (below 87kts)

      My understanding is when the plane was made, it was intended that the switch would normally be in the middle position. But there were some safety issues with that (gear extending on power-off descents unexpectedly and shortening glide range) so the current best practice is to have it disabled ("up" position), which enables the flashing light.
